Well I just got in from a trip down south. I guess you could not really call it a trip as we were working at Leavers the last 2 nights. It was in a place called Dunsborough. A great place if you ever need some time to relax and just “be.” To be quite honest, I was not at all looking forward to going down there. There has been a great deal going on around the joint lately and frankly, I felt as if I was not going to be bothered going down there. However, I had committed to helping some months ago so I endeavored to be enthusiastic about keeping committments.
Well in coming back I know it was a time needed. Going and serving just puts things into perspective of what life is about and what I am actually called to be as a disciple of Christ. It is a bit cleashay I know, but sometimes these things are true. I heard a person talking about how they were not “feeling it” at church anymore. Then the Pastor asked them when the last time they had fed someone or served someone. What a great thing. I often wonder what would happen if the church communities made this the point. If we made this the goal posts and the point posts…serving, giving, sharing. What would happen?
